Jeremiah 1:4 Now the word of the Lord came to me (the prophet Jeremiah) saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Two points strike me this morning:
- This is a powerful testament to the sacred nature of human life. “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you…” testifies to the divine intentionality of human conception and life. God “knows” us before we are even born. There is a plan and purpose for each human being – before it is even conceived.
That was true for Jeremiah, but it’s also true of you.
Perhaps you’ve had someone tell you, “God has a plan for your life!”. Sounds trite sometimes, but it happens to be true. You aren’t a mistake or a random collision of microscopic sperm and egg. God had something in…
